Getting around

How to get around the city
In Granada you'll find public buses and sightseeing buses in addition to taxis, so you can move conveniently and efficiently between the various places of interest in the city.
The city bus is the best way to get around Granada. They usually run from 6:45 am-11 pm. On Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of public holidays there are also two special lines (known as 'búhos' –Spanish for owls) that run from midnight to 5 am.
Taxis can be found every day at any time. They are white with the city crest, a green line and their licence number on the side. You can stop them in the street when they have the green light on. They can also be found at taxi ranks on Granada's most central streets and squares. There is also a radio taxi service –the taxi will pick you up from wherever you like. Tariffs are displayed inside the taxis and include the minimum fare, flag-down charge, kilometre charge and other extras such as night service, public holidays, and station or airport service.

How much does transport cost?
A one-way bus ticket costs €1.20. Tickets for the night bus are €1.30. Another option is the bus pass known as the Credibús, which can be topped up, There are three options to choose from: top-ups of €5, €10 and €20. They are transferable, and you can change between bus lines free of charge within 45 minutes. When you purchase the pass for the first time, you have to pay a deposit of €2 which is refunded on returning the card. The different card options can be purchased directly from the bus driver. There is also a Granada Card Tourist Pass which, as well as admission to the main monuments, also includes a discount card for city buses and a 24-hour ticket for the Sightseeing Bus. The 5-day ticket costs €30, and the 3-day ticket costs €25 (not including entry to the Sightseeing Bus).

Which is the best option?
If you want to make various journeys or travel in a group, then you should purchase a bus pass –it offers savings over single tickets and is transferable, meaning it can be used by more than one person.

Other ways of getting around
You can also get to know Granada on the sightseeing bus which stops at some of the most interesting places in the city such as the Alhambra and the Science Park. Tickets cost €18 and are valid for 48 hours. Another option is to rent bicycles, scooters and segways.
