Trenes Turísticos de Galicia
One of Galicia's sightseeing trains at the station
Everybody knows that travelling by train has a special charm all its own. And if your journey takes you through Galicia in northwest Spain, there's a special treat awaiting you.
We suggest planning your next getaway in one of what are known as "Galicia's sightseeing trains". In addition to the nine itineraries, they also provide a specialised guide for the whole route, a support coach to transport you to more out-of-the-way places and enable you to enjoy arranged visits and meals in top quality restaurants. Your trip will take you along one of the highest cliffs in Europe, and on a visit to gardens with hundreds of camellias. There are different routes to choose from:
Types of routes
Lighthouses Route. From Ferrol to Ribadeo, you'll see some of the loveliest lighthouses in all Spain. Mansions and Historical Gardens Route. From Santiago de Compostela to Vigo, this takes in noble houses such as the Pazo de Rubiáns. Wine routes. There are a number of different routes depending on the wine you're interested in: Ribeira Sacra, Rías Baixas, Monterrei, Ribeiro, Valdeorras… Spas Route: A trip round five spas in Ourense to enjoy the benefits of their thermal waters. Pilgrim Route. A comfortable way of going on the St James Way on a "hotel-train" with catering on board. If you want, you can cover each stage on foot or by bike, explore the city and then continue by train. These are just a few suggestions with a lot to offer. Experience the spirit of old-time train travel while you look out through large windows over the breathtaking natural scenery of Galicia. What more could you ask?
