Exhibition: Soledad Lorenzo (II). Personal Issues
Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía. Depósito de la colección Soledad Lorenzo. Fotografía: Joaquín Cortés/Román Lores
Luis Gordillo, "Dueto Gris" 1983.
Nearly 400 works on temporary loan from the gallery owner Soledad Lorenzo to the Reina Sofía Museum populate the second part of a double exhibition which began with ‘Meeting Point’, on Spanish art in the 80s and 90s.
With pieces by 24 Spanish and international artists, “Personal Issues” focuses on the figurative language. The national section will include two well established figures, Luis Gordillo and Alfonso Fraile, and more transgressive ones such as Juan Ugalde, Jorge Galindo, and Manuel Ocampo. The American creators David Salle, Oursler, Ross Bleckner, Eric Fischl, and George Condo, connected to the Metro Pictures Gallery, will be part of the international contingent, alongside works by Broto, Barceló, Schnabel, and Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle. Soledad Lorenzo has always fostered young artists such as Jerónimo Elespe, Philip Frölich, and Adriá Juliá, whose work will also be included in the exhibition.
