This was first a flour mill, then a fulling mill, and today it is a museum and centre for awareness for the Arga River Park. Its current re-embodiment as a museum recalls its important history as a fulling mill. The Spanish term “batán” comes from the Arabic, and means “to beat”. This is the function of the machine which was used to transform the loose matter into a more compact mass by continuous shaking with the flails.
