The Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, patron saint of Hondarribia, is visible from practically all over the district. The shrine stands on Mount Jaizkibel (545 m) and was built in the 16th century. It has been destroyed and rebuilt several times after attacks on the town throughout its history. The current building dates from the 19th century.
