It is one of the quintessential gastronomic fairs in inland Galicia.

The town of Lalín, in Pontevedra, has been celebrating this festival for more than 40 years (it started in 1969). During this festival there is a broad range of events for the thousands of people who visit this town during the "stew season". On the day of the fair there is a pregón (opening speech), parades with brass bands and floats, band performances, street entertainment and a "popular meal" where people eat typical stew. The activities connected with this festival, however (children's workshops, sports competitions...) last several months.
