In 1987, in the area surrounding Fataga, the Ayagaures y Pilancones Nature Reserve was opened.
The town of Fataga belongs to the district of San Bartolomé, in the interior of Gran Canary, and is located in some of the most beautiful natural surroundings on the island. Its landscape is characterized by the presence of magnificent palm tree groves, indigenous plant species and Phoenician junipers.
