Granada invites you to come and visit the city at this very special time, during the celebration of the International Music and Dance Festival, set to take place in its emblematic historic centre which has been recognised by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Great symphony orchestras, dance troupes, theatre companies and flamenco singers convene here from late June to July to experience the magic of Granada, when the good weather makes this the perfect time of year to enjoy all the attractions of this area on the Costa Tropical.
The city of Granada, in the region of Andalusia in southern Spain, is transformed into the art capital of the world with the celebration of the International Music and Dance Festival. An outstanding occasion to visit Granada, to discover all its culture, and to experience the wonderful festive atmosphere which every year attracts more than 30,000 visitors come from all over the world.
The main monuments in the city, which has been designated a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO, are transformed into the scenario for a multitude of open air events. Recitals in Arab courtyards, concerts by great symphony orchestras inside the Alhambra, nocturnal flamenco shows and world music in the Albaycín quarter, theatre performances and dance exhibitions in the Generalife gardens… A programme of cultural events which makes the perfect excuse to take to the streets of the city and discover all its Arab enchantments.
The climate is also ideal for it. At this time of year you are guaranteed constant sunshine, which makes the province of Granada a particularly attractive destination thanks to its coastline. This is the Costa Tropical, where the average year-round temperature is 20 degrees, and where you’ll find around 70 kilometres of coast lined with beaches and secluded coves with crystal clear waters.
Two weeks of culture and open-air spectacles during the International Music and Dance Festival; art and history in a monumental site which is practically unique in the world; guaranteed entertainment with a coastline which is ideal both for relaxing and for enjoying sports in the marine resort on the Costa Tropical; and the local gastronomy based on the Mediterranean diet, which is seen at its most delicious in the typical tapas.
