- Main difficulties
- The climb up to the Puerto del Acebo pass, at 1,024 metres, is hard going. The AS-28 becomes gradually steeper after Gestoselo and continues on to Peñafuente, where the route leaves the asphalt and passes through the village on a path which then rejoins the road.

- This is a completely rural mountain landscape. Salime reservoir.
- Gastronomic products, cakes and pastries
- The typical gastronomy of the area includes hearty stews and soups, botillo (cured meat) with potatoes, and a whole range of game and fish dishes. For dessert there are mantecadas (little cakes), heather honey and torta de roxois (a local pastry) and home-made liqueurs.
