Vineyards in Lanzarote

Wine-producing areas on the islands

These are the wine-producing regions on the Balearic and Canary Islands. In the latter, we can find the  Tenerife Wine route.

The wines and designations of origin

What are the wines like?: in the case of the Balearic Islands, Majorca and Menorca are the two islands where the most wine is produced, with native and international grapes. Their Mediterranean climate favours an increasingly frequent grape cultivation. The Canary Islands, on the other hand, have become an exceptional wine-producing region due to the volcanic nature of their soils and almost desert-like climate, which is ideal for the vines. Designations of origin: From the Balearic Islands: Binissalem / Pla Llevant From the Canary Islands: Abona / El Hierro / Gran Canaria / La Gomera / La Palma / Lanzarote / Tacoronte-Acentejo / Valle de  la Orotava / Valle del Guimar / Ycoden-Daute-Isora.
