Church of Nuestra Señora Santa Maria de la Encarnación
The church of Nuestra Señora was built on the remains of the Moorish mosque.Its construction began in 1529, of Gothic style, however of this era only the sanctuary with abbatial chapels with pointed arches and Gothic pilasters remain, the rest was destroyed by an earthquake.Its reconstruction was carried out thanks to the initiative of the cathedral chapter in 1531, under a Renaissance project commissioned to Alonso de Covarrubias and to the master quarryman Rodrigo de Gibaja. There are three floors with ogive and ambulatory vault roofs.At the foot of this the tower is located with five sections.
