Description

Clunia Sulpicia was founded in the I century A. C. by the Emperor Tiberio. There were 200 hectares of which many villas, monuments, thermal baths, and the theatre have been preserved. The forum was rectangular and in it were two churches and an administrative building.Houses with three floors and one of the biggest theatres in Roman Spain have been found.Remains of ceramic, mosaic, sculptures, glass, and pieces of jewellery have been excavated. One of the most important discoveries in this town are Christian symbols which signifies that one of the first Christian communities on the peninsula could have lived in Clunia.
