Description

This exhibition comprises over 150 replicas of the Qin Dynasty terracotta warriors (China, 210-209 B. C.) where visitors travel back through time to an extinct civilisation.

The show has already toured several European cities and now lands in Madrid. The terracotta warriors comprise a set of over 7,000 life-size soldier and horse statues that were buried near Qin Shi Huang who declared himself to be the first emperor of China. The pieces were discovered in 1974 near Xi'an by Chinese farmers and were awarded UNESCO World Heritage status in 1987.

The crowning glory of the exhibition is a life-size reproduction of part of one of the pits from the large Xi'an excavation with over 90 warriors and a series of interactive elements enabling visitors to get an idea of grandeur of this archaeological discovery.
