When you hear the name Picasso, you're sure to think of portraits. It's no coincidence. With this collection, the Picasso Museum highlights the importance of this genre in the Malaga-born artist's creations.
Through his portraits, Picasso conveyed a particularly personal aspect of himself. The sample shows various caricatures, which were almost never commissions. Because of this, Picasso was free to represent and interpret his portrait subjects. These, in the majority of cases, were friends and people from his inner social circles. The exhibition was previously in London and is arriving in Spain boasting more than 80 pieces from public and private collections.
