Tardorromana Basilica Museum

Ceuta

The only 4th-century Christian finds in the Northern Mediterranean region.

In addition to the remains of the basilica itself, formed by a single rectangular hall and two side naves, the museum offers a tour that goes from pre-history to the era of Islamic domination.

Its most significant areas include that devoted to the study of the salting factories, the region’s most important economic activity in Roman times. Also outstanding are the Afterlife and Necropolis sections, where a Roman sarcophagus and several tombs of great sobriety are exhibited.
