San Juan de Dios Hospital

Badajoz

The hospital of the poor.

It is a very interesting building as its church has an octagonal plan with large vaulted niches which can be used as altars.

This old hospital is today the site of the regional parliament. It preserves the church with an octagonal plan covered by a dome. The main front has a semicircular archway, as well adjoining pillasters and plaster and brick mouldings. The cloister has a square plan with a double series of arches. Home of the Extremadura Assembly.
