Filigree crafts

Ceramics, wickerwork, leather, silverwork... There is a wide variety of crafts in Salamanca, that make use of a range of materials. Some of the most outstanding are leather items such as cowboy boots, saddles and handbags. Salamancan filigree is also famous - these are beautiful pieces of precious metalwork in gold and silver. The most typical element - the Salamanca button - is used to decorate rings, earrings, bracelets and embroidered clothing. Other renowned local products are textiles such as embroidery, bobbin lace and cloth from Béjar. In the city centre, in Plaza Mayor Square and its surrounding area such as Rúa, Meléndez and San Pablo streets, there is an abundance of shops where you can purchase all these traditional items.
