It is a modern city where you can enjoy peaceful walks in streets and parks. It is a city full of culture, with three World Heritage Sites: The cathedral is the only cathedral in Spain which has been individually awarded the World Heritage designation by the UNESCO; the Way of Saint James goes through the city; and the Atapuerca sites are a few kilometres away. They can be visited from the Museum of Human Evolution, situated in the centre of Burgos. There are many places to hold meetings. From a Conference Centre to unique places such as the Monastery of San Agustín, the Palace of Castifalé or the University. There are also many options in the area to complete a business trip: a year-round cultural programme, activities on the Ribera del Duero Wine Route, visits to the Monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos, a boat trip down Castilla Canal, playing golf, etc. It has good transport connections by road with Madrid, on the A-1 motorway; with the Basque Country, on the AP-1 motorway; and with the rest of capitals in Castile-León. It is also connected with the main European destinations by train and has an airport with direct flights to cities such as Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Malaga.
