This lovely, long beach offers fantastic views of Santander city and Magdalena Palace. It is the first in a line of three beaches. El Puntal, Somo and Loredo form the longest sandy ground of all Cantabria (over 8 km). Surrounded by dunes, El Puntal Beach is the most unspoilt of all three. The area behind the beach is not at all developed, delimited only by the Cubas River (as its name suggests, "puntal" is a stretch of sand surrounded by water).
