View of the town of Llanes (Asturias)

Get a map of Spain and pick a spot at random on its nearly 8,000 kilometres of coastline. Wherever it is, it will be close to an attractive coastal town or village that can offer you a unique experience beside the sea. Ports and fishing towns, lush Mediterranean scenery, beaches next to mountains… If you like fresh seafood, go to Galician villages like O Grove, Sanxenxo and Ribadeo. Stroll around elegant towns such as Llanes and Ribadesella in Asturias, or Comillas in Cantabria, with outstanding buildings like “El Capricho”, an early work by Gaudí. The Basque Country and Catalonia offer plenty of museums, art and architecture to explore: Bermeo (Bizkaia), Zarautz (Gipuzkoa), Cadaqués (Girona) and Castelldefels (Barcelona) are just a few highlights. Further down the Mediterranean coast, you can discover Peñíscola (Castellón), Mazarrón (Murcia), Nerja (Málaga) and Motril (Granada). Over the water in the Balearic Islands, you can visit the medieval setting of Pollença (Mallorca), or choose the Atlantic Ocean and volcanic landscapes of Teguise (Lanzarote), in the Canaries. Spain offers so many destinations for fun at the seaside, unforgettable scenery and culture, and delicious cuisine.
