Museo de Historia y Antropología de Tenerife - The Tenerife Museum of History and Anthropology
Modern day as a continuation of history and anthropology
The exhibitions and programmes of activities on offer at the centre are designed to help visitors understand the present moment as something which is completely linked to history and tradition. For this reason, the Museum of History and Anthropology brings together these two sciences in two venues with the aim of providing, through its collections, a broader and richer view of the history and culture of the island of Tenerife. One of the sites is Casa Lercaro (c/San Agustín, 22, San Cristóbal de La Laguna), where you can see an overview of institutional, social, economic and cultural development of Tenerife from the 15th to the 20th centuries. The other site is the Casa de Carta, considered to be an important example of the ancestral homes built in the Canary Islands in the 18th century, which provides a detailed analysis of social customs and behaviour. Tickets include admission to both sites.
