Evolution and art
The museum is located in San Antón Castle, an old 16th-century fortress.
The exhibition is divided into three sections. The Archaeology section contains items that illustrate the different periods of prehistory and the ancient history of Galicia, including the outstanding Leiro helmet, the Torques (Celtic necklace) de Xanceda and Cícere precious metalwork. There is another area dedicated to Medieval Sculpture and heraldry, while the section on the upper floor deals with the main historic events related with the town.
