The world of the Navy

This archive was created in 1948, set in a magnificent 16th century palace.

The pieces that make up its collection come from the Central Archive of the General Army Barracks, and from the three corresponding to the Maritime areas of the Strait of Gibraltar, the Cantabrian and the Mediterranean. The majority of the documents are post-1784, although there is a series of Royal Decrees from Cadiz and some files from Ferrol and Cartagena that predate said year. The most recent archives date from 1936. Here you can also see naval models, along with objects, paintings, weapons and instruments related with naval history and culture.
