Exhibition of artworks at the San Salvador Monastery
Founded in the 11th century, this was one of the most important monasteries in Castile. The building underwent major changes in the 17th and 18th centuries, and is now home to a textile and tapestry museum, although you can also see exhibitions of architecture, painting, sculpture and precious metalwork. There is an outstanding 12th-century Romanesque figure of Christ, as well as a 14th-century painting by Santa María Egipciaca, and Gothic and Hispano-Flemish panels.
