Oriental art brought to Spain
The majestic Santo Tomás Royal Monastery, built and inhabited by the Dominicans, houses an interesting art exhibit.
The items on display come from different countries, such as China, Vietnam and Japan. This Oriental ethnographic collection contains pieces acquired by Dominican missionaries, such as choir books and Philippine ivory. There is a room devoted to Natural History, where different animal specimens are displayed. Those native to the Eastern seas are especially worthy of note.
