An underground world of colours
The findings from this major archaeological site have included the remains of settlers dating from 4,000 years ago.
Beside the cave there is a reproduction of a prehistoric village which is used to hold various workshops and activities such as flint carving, and how to use tools and spears. The stalagmites and stalactites inside the cave itself offer a spectacular array of colours, which range from the classic white, grey and black, through to various shades of orange, blue and yellow. There are large chambers with names such as Enterramientos (burial sites), Santuarios (shrines), Tortícolis (stiff neck) and Parto (childbirth).
The cave has an extension of 3,670 metres, with a difference in level of 13 metres. The visit lasts 45 minutes and covers a distance of 500 metres. The cave was discovered in 1932.
