A town situated in "the wildest territory in the Pyrenees", according to Ernest Hemingway; a fascinatingly beautiful place on the Way of Saint James.
The town appeared on the Way of Saint James to tend to the pilgrims that came from Europe through the Pyrenees. On their way they left thousands of stories that add to the brilliant past of these lands, through which Roman legions marched on their campaigns in Hispania, or where the Vascons defeated Charlemagne in the 8th century.
