The church is ranked as a Procathedral.
Gothic masonry building with three naves containing Romanesque remains of the previous construction.
There are three Gothic entrances, the one in the Gospel section is the oldest and dates from the Romanesque period. The vaults are ribbed. The High Altar is Plateresque without polychrome. The choir, with excellent choir-stalls, and the pulpit are both Gothic. The entrance to the vestry is Plateresque in design and through which the Diocesan Museum can be accessed. Inside the temple there are diverse Gothic sculptures. The black crucified Christ that dates from the Romanesque period is of great value.
