The Kursaal Congress Centre in the city of San Sebastian is hosting this gastronomic event, which has established itself as a world leader in haute cuisine and in the discovery of surprising culinary trends. This was the first international gastronomy conference in the world, and it always features great national and international chefs who have made a mark on the history of contemporary gastronomy.

In each edition, different countries take centre stage with talks by some of their chefs and food critics. The list of speakers who have graced this meeting includes big names such as Rasmus Munk (creator of “holistic cuisine” in Denmark), René Redzepi (the father of New Nordic Cuisine), José Andrés (the ambassador of Spanish cuisine in the United States), Leonor Espinosa (who showcases the culinary traditions of Colombia), Yoshihiro Narisawa (pioneer of sustainable cuisine and whose restaurant is considered the best in Japan), Matthew Lightner (who revolutionised Oregon cuisine with avant-garde techniques) or Alex Atala (one of the most important chefs in Latin America).Altogether, San Sebastian Gastronomika is a unique opportunity to discover first-hand how culinary milestones have been achieved over the years and how there are plans to keep shining the spotlight on fascinating future projects.
