Beschreibung
Das WOMAD-Festival (World of Music, Arts and Dance) ist ein Projekt des Engländers Peter Gabriel, das ermöglichen soll, Musik, Kunst und Tanz aus aller Welt einem breiten Publikum bekannt zu machen.
Diese kostenlose interkulturelle Veranstaltung findet seit 1992 jährlich in Cáceres statt. Außer den Auftritten von verschieden Musikgruppen und Solisten gibt es ein umfangreiches Begleitprogramm mit Workshops, Straßenumzügen, Kunsthandwerksmärkten und der Fusion unterschiedlicher Kulturen.
