A medieval blacksmith's in privileged natural surroundings

Compludo is just 20 kilometres from Ponferrada. A visit is well worthwhile for the views of the valley, the landscapes that surround the village and the various monuments to be seen. The blacksmith's is worthy of special mention. It is the only working smithy in the region and dates from the Middle Ages. Access is via a footpath that runs along the riverbank. You should also visit the 16th century parish church, which has an altarpiece from the same period.
