Murcia

250 kilometres of coastline washed by two seas. Beaches and coves with white sand. Crystal clear waters, ideal for water sports. More than 3,000 hours of sunshine per year and an average annual temperature of 18ºC. This is the Costa Cálida in Murcia.

Come to Murcia, in south east Spain, and enjoy a few unforgettable days on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Countryside, entertainment, sports, culture and excellent year-round weather come together on the Costa Cálida, an ideal holiday destination for all the family. From the fishing village of Águilas to the broad beaches of San Pedro del Pinatar, there is a wide variety of options on this part of the Spanish coast.

You will notice the variety and beauty of the local landscapes. In the space of a few kilometres you will find cliffs, tiny coves, long sandy beaches of internationally recognised quality, protected, unspoilt inlets... Clean, blue seawater dominates the whole area, and is the perfect setting for swimming and for water sports such as kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving, water skiing, kitesurf and rowing. You can also visit the Mar Menor Marine Resort, where you can design a made-to-measure holiday, ideal whatever your age and level in the different sports available. This is, without a doubt, an excellent way to get the most out of all the options on offer with seaside tourism.

If you like nature, then be sure to see the erosion at Bolnuevo Beach, close to Mazarrón, one of the most unusual landscapes in Murcia on account of its amazing sandstone formations. A visit to the Manga del Mar Menor is also not to be missed. It is an emblem of the region: a narrow strip of land, 24 kilometres long, delimiting a huge coastal salt water lagoon known as the Mar Menor (small sea), that opens out into the Mediterranean. Discover this important tourist destination, peaceful and quiet in winter, very lively during the summer months. Enjoy its hotel and residential infrastructure, its bustling nightlife, its sailing schools and recreation centres for the little ones, and even its muds and clays with therapeutic properties.

On this journey along the Costa Cálida you will find picturesque villages like La Azohía, Cabo de Palos and El Portús, close to Cartagena, which has a naturist campsite; there are protected nature areas such as the Cabo Cope Regional Nature Reserve and the Calblanque Nature Reserve, amongst others; there are golf courses where you can practise and improve your strokes; delightful spots for enthusiasts of country tourism with trails to explore on foot, by bike or on horseback; you can enjoy culture and art with monuments and museums in the region's cities, towns and villages... Don't think twice: Murcia's beaches await you with open arms. Why don't you come and see for yourself?
