Visiting a museum with the whole family can be great fun. This approach is shared by one of Spain's most famous contemporary art museums: the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, in the Basque Country.

The activities available at this museum include children's weekend workshops. Families with children between the ages of 3 to 10 can visit the exhibitions and take part in creative workshops.

Depending on the season, the Guggenheim also organises other different workshops. For example, there have been architecture courses for children aged 5 to 10 (to stimulate their spatial awareness through drawings, models and games), as well as the Art Corner (a creative space in the atrium designed just for children whilst adults tour the exhibitions). Other activities have included: the Books Alive workshop (a library where the 'little ones' discover stories) and Baby Art (where babies are encouraged to awaken their senses through art).

With the arrival of the summer holidays, visitors also have the chance to sign up for specific workshops lasting several days, where children can experiment with drawing and painting, sculpture, physical expression, artistic intervention and digital photography. They're sure to make lots of friends!

And in addition to all this, the Guggenheim Bilbao also has various features that are perfect for developing the imagination and fantasy, such as the sculpture of the giant spider or the 12-metre high floral dog known as “Puppy”, which are sure to make children more than happy to fall in with this family plan.
