Diving in the Balearics

- Balearic Islands
Summer is the perfect time to enjoy the Mediterranean seabed.
The Balearic Islands have been one of the favourite destinations of scuba diving lovers for decades. It is no coincidence that they have been the stage for various different international underwater photography events. Summer is the best time to dive this spectacular underwater landscape, thanks to the exceptional climate and the warm, crystal-clear waters, with visibility up to a depth of 30 metres.
Caves, fissures and coral reefs form part of these islands' extraordinary seabed which, among its abundant flora and fauna, is home to large colonies of Posidonia oceanica, an autochthonous Mediterranean plant. There are a host of schools and centres offering diving trips and equipment hire so that you can spend a day underwater. Night dives are also possible during the summer. The wide range of activities on offer goes from special sessions for beginners to trips to specially selected sites for more experienced divers, and there are even rescue and biology courses available. It all adds up to a delightful experience that will be hard to forget.
