The Church Museum was created by decree from the Archbishop Don Gabino Díaz Merchán, in March 1985. It is intended to be an instrument of evangelisation through artistic objects for sacred use. The interior layout of the museum guides the spectators towards a greater understanding of the Christian message.
The items are on display in the hall and in seven rooms, each of which has a biblical text which aims to highlight the underlying message of the objects in the exhibition.
