The Victoria Eugenia Theatre opened in 1912 and was designed by the architect Francisco de Urcola. This is one of the most glamorous buildings in the capital of Gipuzkoa. It has neo-Plateresque influences, and serves as a venue for major cultural events such as the Music Fortnight and the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
