Practical Info
Poble Espanyol, a children’s town in Barcelona itself
In the Poble Espanyol younger visitors will find a world of adventure, while grown-ups will discover a city without cars where children can run around wherever they want. This enclosed space in the city of Barcelona itself is a scale replica of a town featuring all of Spain’s characteristic landmarks, so children can learn while they’re having fun. The best way to explore it is by taking the gymkhana tour organised by the park, which is based on a treasure hunt with clues.
The Poble Espanyol offers a wide-ranging family programme every Sunday of the year except in August. Children will not only find endless games to play but can also pretend to be craftsmen and women for a few hours or enjoy listening to storytellers. May is an especially fun time of year, as this is Games month, which features over 200 street games from all over the world. Other original festivals are the Puppet Festival (in March), Sant Jordi (23 April) and Carnival (between February and March).
