Alicante: the place for rice and seafood
The province of Alicante is a great place for Mediterranean cuisine. Its dishes are based on excellent, local organic produce, olive oil, the freshest fish and seafood from its coasts and lots of rice. They give character to an area that has become a quite popular tourist destination. In Alicante you will be able to find food from all over the world. However, we recommend that you take the opportunity to try the local products. One good way of doing this is to go out for tapas, enjoying the delicious montaditos (very small sandwiches) that are typical of this region and that have become popular all across Spain.
