Tres Forcas peninsula
The autonomous city of Melilla lies in North Africa, on the south eastern coast of the Tres Forcas peninsula.
Melilla measures 12.4 square kilometres, and lies on the Mediterranean coast with over two kilometres of fine sandy beaches. The coastline is flat and becomes slightly hilly further inland especially around the Gurugu massif. The small peninsula is a quirk of nature and home to Ciudad Vieja on the coast. The majority of the land is built-up.
