The Jerez Horse Fair

Horses are the main attraction in Jerez de la Frontera in southern Andalusia during the Horse Fair. During the festivities the fairground is filled with parades featuring carriages and horses, as well as with thoroughbred horses who dance to the rhythms of flamenco music. The fun never stops, and the streets are alive with people who come to enjoy the music, the shows, and to dance the traditional Andalusian sevillanas.

Elche, white palm crafts and footwear

In Elche you’ll discover a very special craft based on the white palm (palm leaves which turn white when deprived of sunlight for months), and also its footwear. White palm weaving is found in the Palmeral de Elche, an enormous garden of palm trees –declared a World Heritage Site– where the white palms are collected and made into attractive decorative articles by the local craftspeople.
